Summons notice sent at 'behest of BJP': Kejriwal writes to ED ahead of appearance in excise policy case

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the Enforcement Directorate (ED)’s summons in excise policy case as “illegal” and “politically motivated”, adding the summon notice to him was sent at “the behest of the BJP”. In a letter to the ED, Kejriwal also urged the central agency to withdraw the notice immediately.

“The summon notice is illegal and politically motivated. The notice was sent at the behest of the BJP. Notice was sent to ensure that I am unable to go for election campaigning in four states. ED should withdraw the notice immediately,” Kejriwal was quoted as responding to ED by PTI.

This came ahead of Kejriwal’s scheduled appearance before the investigation agency today in connection with its money laundering probe in the alleged liquor scam.
