Chandrababu Naidu’s wife embarks on yatra across Andhra to protest husband's arrest

Hyderabad: Expressing deep sympathies with the families of those who died of shock suddenly after former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu was sent to jail, his wife, Bhuvaneswari on Wednesday said that though Naidu is in prison after his arrest on ‘illegal’ charges, he always thinks about the welfare of the people of the state.

On Wednesday, she launched ‘Nijam Gelavali’ (Truth Should Prevail)—a statewide tour from the Tirupati district, where she began her yatra in Chandragiri Assembly segment. Before meeting the family members of those who died of shock over the arrest of Naidu, she garlanded the statue of her father, late N T Rama Rao, and paid rich tributes to him at Naravaripalle. In the next few days, she is slated to visit these families, who are estimated to be around 150 and spread across the state.

A Praveen Reddy of Chandragiri died of shock on October 17 while Kanumuri Chinnabba collapsed on September 25 as they could not digest the news of Naidu’s arrest. After consoling the family members, Bhuvaneswari said, “It is our duty to console the family members of any party activist when the family head is no more. Naidu is deeply hurt on learning about these deaths of party activists.”

Observing that Naidu concentrates more on party activists than his family members, she assured the kin of Praveen Reddy and Chinnabba that the party will always stand by them. Extending Rs 3 lakh each as financial assistance to these two families, Nara Bhuvaneswari said that the TDP will extend support to them whenever needed.
